The Post Office was built on the site of the Borough Hall in 1958-60. 1984. Barclays Bank, No.93, High Street, Stockton, included in a general view of Nos.86-93, High street. Built c1820. Previously North Eastern Banking co (1900-1914), Bank of Liverpool (1914-1918), Bank of Liverpool and Martins (1918-28) and Martins Bank Limited (1928-68). 1984 Barclays Bank, No.93, High Street, Stockton, included in a general view of Nos.86-93, High street. The cinema opened in 1934 on the site of the hall at the rear of the Borough Offices, as the Regal, in 1946 it was renamed the Odeon, it was demolished in 1966 and then rebuilt and finally closed in 1981.

  1. If I recollect correctly, the Odeon was damaged by demolition and rebuilding of the post office, causing the Odeon to be rebuilt in double quick time.
