This is a photograph of A5/2 69842 leaving the station on an afternoon workmens” service in 1954. The station closed to regular services on March 1st,1954, but the workers” trains survived until November 6th,1961.
Not 1961. Bill Camwell took the photo and he told me he took it in 1954! I have a vast collection of railway pics around Stockton. Sadly Bill Camwell is no longer with us as he pased away som years ago.

I remember the men coming through the bridge from Furness ship yard , I was eight when I left but remember everything about it ! Loved it !!!
