Does anyone have any information about Huts at Port Clarence which were occupied by “squatters” shortly after the Second World War?
The information I have is very vague, but as I understand there was a temporary army camp at Port Clarence during the Second World War and when this was vacated at the end of the war people who were unable to find accommodation due to the housing shortage took up residence. This was reported in local papers. ” squatters” is their word not mine.
Strange how little changes in this country. 2023 and we still have a housing shortage.
