How could I find a list of past landlords? Looking for any info on Giovanni Liberatorio (Johnny Liberator) who was there in 1939.
Any help much appreciated

Hello Susan,
We hold trade directories here in the Reference Library. Unfortunately we have a gap from 1939 until 1950’s. I have checked the earlier trades however can only find a James Liberator listed. He is listed at The Moor Hotel on Tynedale Street, Spertudi ice-cream, 34 Maritime Street. I hope this helps.

This was taken in January 1986 and shows the Leeds Hotel in Bishopton Lane, Stockton, in the background is the American Tavern pub. It is hard to imagine that there was also a Car-Boot Sale held on Sunday morning behind the Leeds Hotel on the car park.
