I reckon that these photographs were take in the late 1920s. The young girl in the photographs is Jane Johnson, my mother and she was born in 1924. Her father Bill Johnson, the man who took the photographs, was the driver of the fire engine and he went on to be the Chief Fire Officer.
I worked at Aunt Judy’s sweet factory where Boyes is now and remember it well but it looks a bit rougher than I remember.
