On a nostalgia browse last night came across this photo. I hope you are all still here and if you are and come across this please leave a comment. I well remember many of the names and living on the Fern Park Estate many of us from there went to St. Johns school. Trevor Collett and Kirk Leach lived just doors away as did Paul Lawrence (a year or two ahead of us) and Neil Errington who has commented on the football team photo lived in the next road.
I attended St John’s school as did my older brother Colin Clamp,my older sister Iris Clamp?, my self Wendy Clamp, then Pauline Clamp and then Christine Clamp. I left in 1969/1970 I went to Roseworth Secondary Modern as did all my siblings…Happy memories
Wendy I was in Paulines class and on the same table.
Mike Hardy is in this photograph, Phil de Chaumont-Rambert is correct that many pupils had siblings who attended the same school, I was at St. John’s five years before my younger brother. Mike still lives in Norton with his family and is a member of the Billingham Silver Band.
Whilst I left St John’s in 1965 I do remember Mrs Cornforth and Mr Wiseman. Some of the ‘tykes’ in this picture obviously had bigger brothers and sisters who went to St. John’s at the same time as me as I recognise some of the names, for example, Sheila Corkin, the Littlefair brothers, Nugent, Bowron & Jennings are all familair names.
The girl next to dawn, was it Littlewood ?. I remember Dawn, she was a very good swimmer, Michael, Christine Dryden and Kathleen were very good at running. Dawn too, I remember them representing the school at Stockton Cricket Ground on sports day…. you’ve made my day Ian … good times.
I remember Mr Stones & John Bowren but none of the other names in the picture. I used to go to John’s house to play. He lived on Norton Road, 309/311. He used to have a good train set laid out in the 3rd story. I used to live in 20 Brinkburn Road, ‘Dennis’s’ shop if anyone remembers it. I attended this school back in the day but I guess you know that seen as I’ve commented on the photo

Hi Glenn, I recognise your name, so I think you will have been in a class above or below me. I can remember the train set in the loft at John Bowrons house.
Hi Ian I remember you. I am still in touch with Rob Ness. I remember the teachers in the picture. My mum was also a dinner lady for a while at St.Johns.
My mom used to have the hairdressers shop next to Dennis’s on Brinkburn Road. We moved to the USA in 1967. I went to St.Johns up to 1964, then Trinity and then Billingham before we moved. My name is Dave and I think we used to play together. We used to have a black cocker spaniel named Sooty. My brother had polio his name was Stuart.
