  1. I went to the Queen Street School in 1950. Started in the infants, then moved up to the Juniors. Loved that School. Most of our friends from school were from the neighbourhood. Don’t know where these people are today. Would be lovely to hear from them. Doreen Spiro Nee Quigley.

  4. My mum “nancy” Annie Gibson possibly went to this school . She was born in 1931 and lived in Thornaby. She had a brother Thomas and sister Margaret who would also have gone to the same school. They lived in Laburnam Ave. Mrs Walker was one of the neighbours. Does anyone know my mum.? parents were Nancy and Thomas Gibson.

  6. Does anyone remember a Miss or Mrs Peverall or something similar? it’s a surname that’s been bugging me for a while. I was there 1960/1-1966.

  7. The picture showing Queen St School is of the front “posh” entrance which I nearly didn’t recognise. We used the entrance through the play ground on King St, I think, having walked from the bus stop at the end of Gilmore St. I don’t think I realised that there was a front entrance until a long time after I left in 1947

    • Mr Crawford came back to Queen St after the war 1945/6 when Mr Hoy was Head Master and Mr Thomas Addison (Tot Addi) was a senior teacher who’s brother taught at Arthur Head.
