    • Hi Michael. Nearly all of dad’s service was on MTB’s. As far as I know, they only had pennant numbers, and I don’t have details of those. I know most of his service was in the far east. Part of his service in home waters was in the squadron commanded by Sir Peter Scott, who delighted in going over to the French coast early in morning and playing “Do you ken John Peel” to tempt German “E” boats out of harbour. On “D” day he was stationed off Omaha beach, supporting the US forces. He told me that the sights he saw then were really upsetting, because of the boys (& so many were just boys) coming back on board with such horrific injuries. Hope this is of interest to you.
