Would anyone be interested in an informal recorded conversation over a coffee about their experience at Billingham South school? Currently researching the school as it moves closer towards its 100th birthday. Interested in how the school, teaching, curriculum, discipline and life chances of its pupils has changed over time. Also interested in any photos I could have via email. Many thanks
So many familiar faces Billy but hard to remember names. I think in the back row 3rd from left is Harry Field. 2nd row from front, on the far right, Sandra Johnston maybe It’s been a long time so may I be wrong. I bet Keith Parnaby will know most of them.
Harry Field was an electrician and worked at ICI Billingham in the 1980’s but sadly passed away while still in service and quite young. A nice man and very good at telling stories to entertain his workmates such as ‘his car had no radio or cassette player, remember them?, but his children wanted music in the car so he said he would sing to them!’. RIP.
