Another also sad indictment of our time is the diminishing number of citizens, namely senior citizens attending these commemorate occasions, it is important that we never forget.
I was there to remember my great uncle Harry Armstrong, who sent some of those embroidered cards to his sister, my granny, Mary Hope (nee Armstrong) at 42 York St. in 1916 and 1917. Also great uncle Jack sent a card to little Mary, who was my Aunty Mary.
