I’d like to sincerely thank you all for your kind words and good wishes and to wish all of our friends old and new a very Happy Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year.

I will be taking a few days off now but please keep your comments and picture contributions coming (for picture contributions please email:

  1. To all the lovely people in the Library and to you Laura, I wish a Happy New Year.
Susan, I was in California when my Daughter took me down Durham Road into Stockton, I thought they must have been out during the night putting the signs up. We had lunch with a German couple in Stockton and got the story of Durham miners going over during the Gold Rush hence the local names.
The California lot I’ll be over in February for my 90th birthday along with family from France and other parts of the UK, we Stockton folk travel wide though some of us do come back when we realise there is no place like Stockton, well that is my excuse.

  2. It will be New Year when you get to read this so, all the best for the coming year. Long may you continue with this site. I am an expat living in Coventry and I so enjoy looking at the many and various topics shown here. Thank you, especially to the person or persons whose idea it was to start the site. Keep on, you are much appreciated..
    Gan canny, wor bairns.
