Re the photo from Lyn Perks, My guess is that the Team is the Head Wrightson’s, the ground is Thornaby, although Portrack is a possibility. The date is sometime between 1902 and 1918. In 1901 my grandfather John Wade moved from Pudsey to Thornaby and worked at Heads On this picture (back row, second from left) he is the same same but a little older compared to a picture of him at cricket in Pudsey. Working at Heads would have would meant his being not available for Service. Sadly he died in 1918 on Armistice day.
