You could drive your car into the Teasdale Park ground & park like in the photo, but you could not see much of the game from your car with crowds like this.
Ray Morton’s association with Teasdale Park goes back a long time he was a player with Head Wrightsons, prior to that he played for Seaham Red Star. He was also manager of Norton & Stockton Ancients. Sorry Bob I do not know the chap Chris Spooner, maybe the Malleable Club football men can help you.
Anon, Do you know of a lad who would now be 76ish called Chris Spooner? He lived in the Hallifield Street area of Norton. He was a goalkeeper but I cannot remember the local teams he played for. I remember him as a painter and decorator, maybe for the council.
If only Thornaby F.C. got crowds like this every home game at the old Head Wrightson’s Teasdale Park in the photo, Ray Morton(Manager) & the committee’s prayers would be answered.
