Swimming Gala at Billingham Baths on Belasis Avenue. c1953.
Sometime between 1960-62 Tilery Rd school had, I think, the inter-house swimming competition
and Brian Clough came along. I remember a group photo was taken of all the lads who took part in the swimming including me. I was in red house (Ropner). Wished I had ordered a glossy photo from that time, wonder if anyone out there ever got hold of one. Wonder if Mrs Atkinson (swimming instructor) got hold one one, must be a few Tilery school lads wish for the same. PictureStockton have my e-mail if you can help.
I remember this photo taken with my twin sister Barbara and my parents, Bill and Mary Wilson, watching my brother Harry swim in a race. We were about 8 or 9 at the time. I remember my sister and I were wearing bright red cardigans over pretty dresses which mum had made. My sister Barbara was in the next race which she won. I came second.
