Kingsport Close, Portrack, Back Garden c1972

t14825The photograph is taken from 17 Kingsport Close and shows the back garden in reasonable condition with a lawn and some small ornamental bushes. I had also attempted to grow a Mountain Ash. Unfortunately it was too near the house, so I dug it up not long after this picture was taken.

One can see signs of the Council beginning to upgrade the estate, when first built around 1954 the fences were made of simple concrete posts and strands of steel fencing wire. Today the gardens are completely enclosed giving much more privacy.
