  1. Derek Wade, did any of your Bean ancestors live at 3 Smithfield Road in 1915, these would be John and Sarah Bean, if so their two sons are connected to my family ancestors.

  2. Records show that one of my ancestors, a John Bean, who was born about 1809 was living in Silver Street, Stockton and working as a Miller in 1839. On his death in 1883 he was a labourer. So I guess that in 1839 the mill was working, but perhaps not so by 1883.

  3. As far as I can make out. This stood either where Mill lane Junior School stood or, if not quite there,then where the short parade of shops stand at the junction of Dixon and Dovecote Streets. I first attended Mill Lane Infants in 1942 and it was not there then. I passed the spot with my Father on the way to visit his Father each Sunday and I would have seen it then.
