I worked in the office when I left school on the switchboard in 1960.
Both myself and my husband worked at Blacketts. He in the dispatch with George Longthorne and me in the office with Miss Mack.
I worked in Blacketts as a Saturday girl in 1965/66 with my twin sister.
Hi Liz was your twin sister Barbara, if so my mum Alice was your Grandma Ella’s youngest sister and we used to visit your house regularly
I was a window dresser at Blackett’s around 1967-68 with Jackie Smith, Susan Anderson and Mrs Dobson, an amazing sign-writer. Good times.
I worked in Blacketts (’65 / ’66) on the “ladies lingerie” with Miss Madden – very proper!
I remember in the early 60’s Blacketts had the biggest wooden box of Lego for £5 quite a lot of money in those days.
This was way before my time but it looks so much better than it does now
I used to go in Blacketts a lot as a boy to look at the scalextric racing cars.
