Part of a row of terraced cottages included in a view of a boat builder and his rowing boats in a yard on the Quayside, Stockton
The 2 houses in the background were known as Number 11 and 12 Housewife Lane, 11 being the corner one on the left hand side. The next house to the right would have been 22 Quayside, the home of my Samuel family for many, many years. They were all fishermen and oyster dealers, and did have a few boats. I do believe that these boats could have belonged to them as there weren’t any other fishermen along that row of houses. Baltic Cottage would be to the left of this picture.
