A view form the top of a warehouse on Bishop Street, Stockton, showing Nos.23a-36, Thistle Green, including Burton House (no.23a) and Wilkinson’s provision dealers shop (No.34). The buildings in this area were demolished c1927.

Photo s500 above was not taken from a Bishop Street warehouse as titled. This photo across Thistle Green was probably taken from the top of the tall, huge warehouse at the end of Silver Street that overlooked Bishop Street and dominated the surrounding area. A general view of this warehouse can be seen in photo t2030 = aerial view of the River Tees, c.1922.
What appears to be an open passageway to Sugarhouse Open can be seen by the shop in the centre of the above photo.
