This is exactly as I recall Ropner Park in its heyday at the time of my childhood. I fed the ducks and swans many times when visiting my relations in Hartburn Avenue. Incidentally their house was struck by a thunderbolt. It came in through the roof and exited through an open door or window. Much damage was done and the ceiling came down onto their bed and the room was covered in shards of glass. It was a very lucky escape.Reported in The Gazette about the end of war but a very unusual happening.
