The oil tanker Karmt with a gross tonnage of 11767 was built at Haverton Hill shipyard by Hawthorn Leslie & Co and owned by Skirsak Stesel Skapet Corona (Norway). The keel was laid on 28th June 1954 and the ship was launched on 24th May 1955.
