The oil tanker Otterhound was built at Haverton Hill shipyard. The keel was laid on 8th March 1927 and the ship was launched on 12th July 1927.

The oil tanker Otterhound was built at Haverton Hill shipyard. The keel was laid on 8th March 1927 and the ship was launched on 12th July 1927.
I would like to know if this is the same vessel that was owned by K.C. Irving of Saint John N.B. If so, I did serve onboard in the early 1950″s operating aroundthe coast of Nova Scotia, P.E.I and N.B.
Not only did it take just over four months from laying the keel to the launch within another month and a day – 13 August 1927 – she undertook her sea trials!
Keel laid 8th March launched 12th July 1927. Only 6 months?? – cheers.
