Three ships were launched from Haverton Hill Ship Yard. The Southern Harvester, Southern Venturer and Southern Cross. I worked for Browns at the time and we fitted the cabin air conditioning fitments as one was almost ready to sail.
Back in 1945 I remember 2 whaling ships being launched in the shipyard at Stockton and Tees, they were “The Southern Harvester” and “The Southern Adventurer”. I just thought I`d pass on this information to you all, they were good childhood memories for me as my father used to work in the shipyards there.
