I have purchased a property recently -44 Bishopton Road. After seeing this picture and the comments from people, I have a small suspicion that this may be my house.I know for a fact that my house used to be a doctors surgery and I also found a floor plan of the building with The Blue Rose Hotel written in the corner. If there is anyone willing to enlighten me in this subject, I would be very grateful.
In answer to Ged Hutchinson query the house at the top of Billy Bortons bank opposite St Pauls road is almost identical to the one in the picture other than the fact that the house at the top of the bank has an upstairs verander with a balustrade around it. I agree that house was once a doctors surgery.
The house-style reminds me very much of the Doctor`s Surgery at the top of Billy Bawton`s Bank on Bishopton Road. In my day Drs. Stolner and Kitchen had their practices there. Later, George and Audrey Cinnamond bought the property and turned it into the Blue Rose Hotel. The one thing that makes me doubt my theory is the Ivy covered walls. I don`t remember the Ivy when I last visited the property in 1975. Perhaps some more recent Newtown dwellers can support or trash my theory.

Isn”t this the two houses that used to stand where the Swallow Hotel is situated at the bottom of Stockton High Street?
