I was a messenger boy here in 1954 when it was the medical center. Mr Brown was in charge of the administration and Mr Taylor saw to all the medical supplies. Dr. Knowles was the main doctor. As a messenger boy we had to deliver medical supplies and collect order forms from the various works medical rooms. I went on to an apprenticeship as an instrument artificer.
Pauline, I am pretty sure that you will be the same Pauline who worked with my Mum (Edith) at Process offices and at the Transport Depot. Do you remember her?
This picture has brought back memories, I worked on the 5th floor of the Process Offices in Distribution Dept from 1963 to 1970, moving then to the Road Transport Depot for 2 years.
I made many trips over to the shop in The Grange, always with a long shopping list from everyone in the office. Cigs, chocolate and pies were the favourite items.
In the late 50″s The Grange was used as the main Medical Centre. Which, as an apprentice, I tried to find an excuse to visit as I was keen on a girl who worked in the process offices.
This brings back memories! I was a messenger girl in the early 1970s and I used to deliver mail to the Grange (used as offices at the time) and also within the main office block opposite the Grange which was called Process Offices. I think there was also a little shop in the Grange which sold snacks.

Shame, this building has since been knocked down and I believe the one behind will soon follow after Asbestos has been removed.
