  1. If that’s Conquests they had a son called Lyle and one of very few cars about, opposite was Blenkinsops grocers.


    • It was once the Conquest’s ladies hairdressers, owned by Victor and Gladys, their only son Lyle passed away about six weeks ago in Hove, Sussex where he lived, Gladys was one of my mother’s sisters.


  2. Think this shop used to be North’s the bakers when I was little. I’m now 63. My mum bought my pram off the owners when she was having me.


    • Conquests hairdressers looking up to Waverley Street where I lived for many years. Greg lived over the road from my parents. I remember very happy childhood days here, a nice neighbourhood, friendly people.
