The Clough family farmed the farm in the late 1800’s, they were a family of 3 brothers and 2 sisters, over a period of around fifty years and with their father before them, they also farmed at other farms at Ingleby Barwick and I would therefore assume that they were tenants and not owners.
My great great grandfather ran this farm in the mid 1800″s. I am not sure whether he owned it or not. His name was Thomas Medd Robinson and quite a few of his children were born there. I wondered if anyone else is from the same family line as it would be great to have contact with you if you are.
I just found this article today. I am Thomas Antony Medd and my family were all from the North York Moors area so there may well be a family link somewhere…
