The intersection is the junction of the High Street and Wellington Street. The Times building was ,in the fifties and probably for a time after that,Woodhouse”s furniture shop. The building to the left was of course Woolworths before it moved to the “wonderful” shopping centre that covers the east side of the High Street.
I cannot place the TIMES building could you let me know the intersection. I was born at 49 Wellington St. 1925.Christened in the Holy Trinity Church. Attended Queen Victoria High School.Joined the WRENS 1944. Have not lived there since. Visited about 16 years ago, before the Baptist Church was demolished, Pity. It was a lovely church. Our family attended for years. My brother in law played the organ, he is still living at 93 in North Wales.
