  1. Having trawled through quite a few items here and responded in another post, it confirms that Colin Booth is known to me via Norman,Vera,Sheila and yourself, Mam & Dad and yours were regular for outings and dances or home to home visits playing cards and a few bottles of double maxim, no tele then, all home grown entertainment. I re-call well walking over the pedestrian rail bridge near the gas house to Londonderry Road. J.L.

  2. Alan Wealeans. I think he may have done for a short time. Graining was one of his specialties. He was also a wallpaper specialist, Someone nicknamed him Shotgun. (his real nickname was titch due to him being short) He could wallpaper a 12 x 12 room walls & ceiling in 4 hours, that included trimming the paper. Apart from running his own business for many years, he also worked for Ideal Decorations , having served his time there in the 1920″s You may be able to put some names to the faces

  3. During attending College classes at the Building Dept, I seem to remember a Mr Booth being our painting and decorating lecturer. Would this be your Father Colin?

  4. The Queens Hotel regularly held functions, This photo was taken at one such event. The annual Master Painters Ball

  5. Third from the left is Norman Booth (my father) lady in white & tall gentleman at back Mr & Mrs Bennett. Gentleman with glasses I think is Arthur Hayton the owner of Ideal Decorations, the other lady at the back is Vera Booth (mother). The ball would have been held in the Queens Hotel near the station. Hoping we might get some help with the names of some of the other people attending the Ball.
