Housewife lane was located in the Thistle Green area and ran from the south east corner of The Square towards the river.It is clearly shown on map 18 in the series of maps titled The History of Stockton and Thornaby in Maps.I believe these maps are available from the Tourist Information shop in Stockton library,or failing that from local bookshops
Does anyone know the location of Housewifes Lane. I have searched old ordnance suvey maps of Stockton and am unable to find it.I have been researching my family tree for year”s and a lot of my family lived there.The Patterson family.
I know this is an old posting but if you are still online Pauline Gordon would you have had a relative in 1883 called Mary Pattison connected to Housewife lane or James street?
