  1. this is definitely walter street, my house is just out of shot on the side with the gardens. the street looks quite different now.

  2. This is definately Walter Street, My Grandparents moved in to Walter street in 1936, my dad was born in the front room and he still lives there now with me and my family.

  3. This is definately Walter Street looking down to Cranbourne Terrace. One of the houses you can see in the distance on Cranbourne belonged to Mrs Gardener who”s garden was full of roses. The two houses on the left in the middle of the street which are taller than the others belonged to the Hailers and the Linskies (sorry for the spellings). The house I lived in was just out of view of the photo in Cranbourne Terrace on the left of this picture.

  4. This is Walter Street, looking down onto Cranbourne Tce, it looks like the guy who took the picture was standing at the end of Roker Terrace. The reason I know this for sure is that it was part of my paper round for Bullocks which was on Yarm Rd at Hartburn traffic light junction. My paper round lasted some 3years until one day I came up against a large dog in the front garden of a house on The Groves, which along with Park View run along the back of Walter St. I entered the front garden and made my delivery, when on the way out this dog appeared from nowhere and took I couple of bites at the back of my legs, luckly not bitting into the flesh. With ragged pants I ran all the way back to the shop and told Mr Bullock jnr what had happened, he told me it was part of the job and to get back out and finish my round. I told him to stick his paper round and walked out the shop and never went back, on getting home my mother went mad, my best school pants ruined. My mother went back to Bullocks and played hell with Mr Bullock and got the money for a new pair of pants off him. I was about 11 years old when it happened and still can remember it like yesterday.

  5. I don”t know what Street/Road it is but there should be a clue somewhere. On the left side of the road the front door is straight onto the pavement and on the other side there is a small front garden. There can”t be that many streets in Stockton like this. Another clue is that it looks as though the Street/Road name does not have more than 6 letters.

  6. I stand corrected, this is indeed Walter Street. Comparing it to a view on Google Earth, I”d say it is looking north, towards Cranbourne Terrace. The end terrace, just out of shot on the right, rather unusually, has windows in it”s gable end
