The picture shows Oxbridge Lane where it passes under the railway. Only the end house of Hind Street is visible, on the left. Hind Street ran between Oxbridge Lane and Spring Street. Hind Street, Alliance Street, Wifred Street and Templar Street were demolished starting in November 2006 and the whole site is being redeveloped at the present time.

Located near Oxbridge school no less! Immediately beyond the bridge and left was a lane that took you up to the dinner halls. Sort of “Huts” down an alley way. We used to have to walk in pairs and be transferred to/from school daily. Didn”t mind it at all really, there used to be space to play after your lunch. Some of the kids used to train spot near the halls as I remember!
