Thats my dad Ronnie Jackson on the last right, I think he drove the fire engine.
His Dad was the Security Officer.
I worked in Cubicle section offices on the first floor and the fire department held a ‘drill’ one very warm afternoon. All our windows were open and the water from the hydrant
drenched us and all the office/paperwork. In ’65 Mr Blake sent me to the Outward bound instead of Tommy Ingram. Believe his dad worked at Hills.
My wife and I met in 1957 while both working at F. Hills. Dorothy (nee Brown) was a shorthand typist and I was a draughtsman. Next year we celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. People we remember from Hills were Valerie Hides (who introduced us) Pam (Spam) Malcolm Pack. It”s good to see F.Hills & Sons appearing on screen in our home in Australia.
