I remember that log pile very well. We used to drive past it everyday on our way to Takoradi swimming pool. My Dad, Jack Mico worked for Hills in Takoradi for a lot of years. He was the last Hills guy to leave the site when it was sold to a Ghanain. There can’t be many of the old guys left now, but I know there are a good few of the kids still around. Hope to hear from some of you.
The site in Ghana is still there. The Compound where we lived is also still there although a couple of the houses appear to have fallen over the edge into the sea. The old factory can still be seen on Google earth as can the houses.
