  1. Who could not be proud of a Village with such fine buildings and well kept surroundings as Norton. Many of us were not in such fine buildings as these, but I recall seeing many back to back houses that were looked after with as much care and pride and were little Palaces that shone with brass ornaments, cardinal Red tiles and whitened doorsteps and clean washing.

  2. Eastholme The story behind this house is that it was originally a block with No 56 , to the right , when it was destroyed by fire in the early 1900s. The new owner , a merchant from Stockton decided on a building to rival The Priory” opposite ,the home of Sir Frank Brown It incoroprates building styles of the past (1800-1900) Brick-Bays, Arched windows , with Grorgian-Keys and a truly magnificent double columned covered Porch, leading to two wide doors , which would not be out of place in a London Gentlemans Club Note the difference from No 56, with its Georgian frontage of 1760-1770
