  1. Back row, 4th from the left is my uncle, Allan Booth.. he worked at Pickerings for years and years, most latterly, I think, in the electrical drawing office. Some character he was, too. At his funeral, in Jan 1989, there were rows upon rows of his workmates in attendance, which was good to see 🙂

  2. This is Peter Kimpton, son of Ronnie Kimpton in the photo. I’m 64 now. On Saturdays Dad used to take me to work when I was 12 – 14. Sadly he passed away 20th April 2011.

  3. Bertie Lowes is top left. He was my Grandad. Can anyone shed any light on the stories that he blew out the factory windows during the war? 🙂

  4. I believe bottom row third from the right is John Fothergill senior. Top row first right is Ken Lee electrical charge hand. I served my time there in 1957 in the electrical department

  5. Allan I dont think that it is Laurie Close. I worked opposite drawing board to him for a long while. however I may be wrong, the seated gent is definitly Harold Scarlett, behind him I thought it might be Bertie Lowe.

  6. Front Row 1st on left hand side Harold Scarlett London office, next looks like Norman Dixon 3rd from left Johnny Paxton, 4th from left side Mr Crosby, Chief Draughtsman. 5th looks like Bill Hardy 6th from left Alf Cordukes, Derek King centre on back. Second row 3rd from left Albert Russel 4th Alan Booth electrical Drawing Office, next to him Ronnie Kimpton London Office. Other I recognise but names elude me,

  7. Norman. Albert Russell from Picks Pattern shop is behind your dad third from left back row and third from right front row is Alf Cordukes from the Drawing office. Like you I know the faces but can”t place the names. Of course I remember your dad from the cage shop he used to help me line the cage with timber when I worked in the joiners shop for a year. What was the occasion in 1979?

  8. Pickerings Lifts celebration evening. This could be from 1979 and the 125th anniversary. There are many faces I recognise but will not embarrass myself by trying to name them all. The gentleman 3rd from left seat is my late father John Paxton
