  1. Where did this group meet? I remember my brother being in scouts and my dad having some involvement in a minor way something to do with a gang show and my dad ending up doing some concert party stuff from it. My brother is called Gavin and my dad was Ken Stamp. It is the name Norman Hucle that has bells going but perhaps because I went to school with a girl called Judith same surname.

  2. 1ST Norton would love to hear from you all, we have new pictures arriving all the time and will post on to this site, as well as ours, please keep on putting names to faces, again any comments or memories welcome John Trotter (Scout Leader)

    • I was in 1st Norton Cubs then Scouts from 1970 based at the Old Mill which was, perhaps the most fantastic venue for Cubs and Scouts. A semi-derelict building with no ‘mains’ services and a large field surrounded by very mature hedges. Dirt-road access. Trees and streams everywhere. Portable gas lights were the only lights. A large central stone floored-room was the main meeting, sports and parade room.
Various other ‘dark’ rooms fed from the central room.
Even now, 45 years after last setting foot in there I remember every detail of the building.

  3. the geurds family had a long association with 1st norton cubs and scouts with jack jim ron and later mike all being part of the group.
