If this building was next to the Engineering school my fellow Tiffy apprentice, Ian Mac., and I wired up all the desks with cables and sockets to dictaphone machines at the front of the class room. This for two very young boys was a great event. The girls were sat at their desk while we wired them, the desks that is. This was in the early 1960″s not sure when but I can assure you this was all very discreet. Unfortunately I would not recognise anyone present. Happy days.
Thinking about the above picture – remember learning shorthand – ON THE DRIVE TO TOWN TODAY I HAD TEA AT SIDS, TROUT AND TOAST WITH CIDER, HOW DIFFERENT IT IS WHEN YOU SIT OUT …….. Anyone who attended ICI Secretarial College will know what I”m talking about – “t” and “d” with short forms !!!!
June 1968 of the 1967-68 year of the ICI Agricultural Division Secretarial Training College, Belasis Avenue, Billingham. The head of the college was Miss Able, assisted by Mrs Blythe, both seated on the front row. I would be grateful for any more names, thanks.

Think one of the ladies on the front row was Bridie O”Hara who was known as the Womens Personnel Officer! Personnel Dept was on the 5th floor of ADO.
