  3. Hi Tony ,Im pleased to read that your Mam is still well they can”t be many of the older ones left in the village now,my aunt and uncle had the Tranport cafe on the high street (Norman and Ethel) near enough opposite Norman and Doris Mcdowels shop, my Brother in law used to work for Bertie Scotson Sundail House farm on Durham rd and I used to work For Stephen Scotson also in Durham road, Can you remember The Lane family in durham rd,I used to hang around with Carl Lane in the 60,s he had two younger sisters that were twins

  4. My mam lives in this row. She is the oldest resident in the village – now 96 years of age and still going well. The old church onto which the row faces is long gone but the old church wall remains on the right of the picture. Thanks for the memories!

    • My grandmother, Violet Husband lived in the cottage at the end of Church Row until her death in 1989. Then my cousin bought my mother out of her share and lived there until her death in 2016. It is now sold and not in our family anymore.
