These photographs were taken at Wynyard Hall in 2011 by Peter Boiston.
I took these photos when we had the last heavy snowfall. Wynyard Hall was once owned by the Londonderry family who entertained Royalty and had hunting and shooting in the vast grounds. I went to the country show there in the 70’s and also used to watch the clay pigeon shooting on a sunday. A commemorative obelisk, situated on the highest point at Wynyard, marks the spot where the Duke of Wellington laid the foundation stone of the new Wynyard Hall. Sir John Hall now owns Wynyard Hall and allows the public to visit, he also intends to open his Rose Gardens to the public.

I am Ed Lee who lived in Raglan Close and went to Stockton Grammar School with your brother Alan. I am sorry to hear he is no longer with us. I have lived in Canada for 34 years but still treasure my memories of growing up in Roseworth and spending all of my spare time having fun in Ossie Wood, over the wash, Billingham bottoms or at Norton Castle.
