Top picture Mrs Eva Hill, Mrs Lil Potts, Mrs Ruby. Storr, ?.?, Mrs Edna Wennington,
Mrs Wennington was our mam, it was hard work those days, all meals cooked from scratch no ready prepared food.
Mother of Robert, John, Rita, Paul, Colin and Ian. God bless her
Is this Bert Wennington’s wife, he worked at Head Wrightsons, Thornaby?
Hi Rita, did you go to William Newton school at the same time as me, Maureen Lowes.
There was nanny Dinsdale and nanny Payne
Does anyone have any photos of the dinner nannies that were on the yard duties? nanny Peacock, nanny Franks, nanny Fish, I can’t remember the old names…
Mrs Wennington was the wife of Bert & mother of John who both worked at Head Wrightsons,
Thornaby. John was a good bowls player & they did live in Darlington Lane as neighbours of Franc Roddam’s family who was made famous for writing TVs ‘geordie bricklayers in Germany’ show!
I remember Mrs Wennington, she lived very close to the school in Darlington Lane.

Eva was my mother and she worked in the kitchens for a number of years. Before that she cleaned at the ‘Mucky Duck’.
I remember Mrs Hill was a wonderful lady , she lived in Greta Road for many years. I also remember your dad and brother Robert.
Thank you Lynne, Eva Hill was my grandma.
Lilly Potts is my nanna, she died before I was born. Please can you point out which lady is Lilly.
