The second photo showing Marks and Spencer staff – I think it is Woolworth Staff, as I recognise a number of people and the Woolworth staff used to wear white on the confectionary and food counters.
The bottom photo showing Stockton Parish Church on the left was taken in ‘The Square’ behind the Quayside Mission Mens Home or thereabouts. This location and all the above buildings can be clearly seen in the photo titled ‘An aerial view of Stockton c1930’ on this site.
I think this is the staff of Marks and Spencers but it could possibly be the girl guides in Thornaby. It was taken a long time ago – My mother, Frances Wood(nee Brown) who is in the middle of the pic, is 94 years old in February. On the second photo my Mum is 4th from the right facing in white. Next to her is Gladis Eason (nee Grovenor) 5th in white.
