Stockton Football Team 1906/07

t12227The team won the Northern Football League that season and were also runners up in the FA Amateur Cup. My Grandfather was George Marwood who played left wing (he is bottom right front row).

I have his medals for both the League victory and the Amateur final. He lived in Cecil Street (Parkfield).

  1. In 1907 Stockton’s George Featherstone was the main marksman before turning professional with Sheffield United. An attendance at the Victoria Ground of over 6,000 witnessed the home game with South Bank, which was a bruising encounter in which three men were sent off before Stockton won 2-0 with both goals being scored by Featherstone. Stockton were unlucky to be beaten in the F.A.Amateur Cup Final by Clapton at Stamford Bridge the home of Chelsea F.C.
