  1. This was the begining of the end of character for Stockton High street, widest highstreet- market town -full of style and character then this! It belongs in some new housing estate not a historical high street.

  2. Cliff Thornton cannot but agree with you, conformity for its own sake. The shots of the “old” high street display the different roof lines and non conformity of the units. Why oh why could they not have left the frontages and built the new precinct behind somewhat in the style of Chester’s rows?

  3. How visually boring this is, when you think of the variety of frontages that stood along this section of the High Street previously.
