  1. Does anyone know if the Prince of Wales Hotel in Portrack took it’s name on this date. My research indicates that the pub was about this age and that Edward VII (to be) must have been the particular Prince of Wales, but as yet I have failed to define the date of naming. I have a photo which I will post separately.

  2. Look at that road lined with soldiers two deep, with their bayonets drawn.
    They didn`t trust the hoi-polloi did they!

  3. Not the Prince Regent. As the eldest son of the Sovereign, he was the Prince of Wales, exactly as Prince Charles is today.

  4. Surely he can’t have been King then as Victoria was still alive. She didn’t die until 1901 so he probably would be Prince Regent.
