Whoops! We got this one wrong, we now know this to be next to the Mitre public house on Darlington Back Lane…..and we agree with Dave Harrison who said it is Bishopsgarth House.
I remember Dr Zeally living in a big house on Norton Green probably number 5 or 6 or somewhere near. It almost overlooks the pond. The earliest of people I knew living in this house was one of the Walford family in the early 1950’s.
I am sure we have been down this ‘road’ before. This is not Hardwick Hall, not sure if it has a name, but it is Bobby Durham’s old home, on Darlington back lane and is still standing. It is located next to the Mitre pub.
This is definitely not Hardwick Hall, it’s the house on Darlington Back Lane close to the junction with Harrowgate Lane, next to the Mitre public house. Hardwick Hall stood on Harrowgate Lane more or less opposite Letch Lane. http://picturestocktonarchive.wordpress.com/2006/07/17/hardwick-hall/
Does anybody live there now?
The house is still owned by Mr Durham and yes he still lives there.
