Hepworths can be seen on one corner with Timpsons shoe shop and the Northern Echo building on the other.

My Nanna used to work at The Northern Echo and I used to get my hair cut at the barbers under the steps, it may have been called Gunners?
Notice the old Halfords shop further down on the right? It was a right dark manky place during the 70’s when I used to go in to buy inner tubes for my chopper.
