Reference the enamel-sign for the ‘Three Castles’ brand of cigarettes. The tobacco used in these cigarettes was originally a popular hand-rolling tobacco, one that Wills’ then decided to manufacture as pre-rolled cigarettes in 1892. The launch of this new-brand, was in fact the first to be ever packaged in cardboard crush-proof ‘sleeves’, all cigarettes previously being sold in paper-packets.
