The rather crudely carved, well worn columns and pediment to the portico of this 18th century Merchants House, in contrast to the finer entrances to similar adjacent properties, seem to suggest that they were long ago salvaged from an earlier building. Or, that the facade has been updated (hence the rendered finish) at some stage of it’s history.
