A very young Mike Kemp, who later became the drummer for local band, the Blue Caps with Rita Walker and John Meadows outside Nicky Downings Foundry in Railway Street, Stockton c1949-1950.
Hello John Meadows.
We knocked around for a while and as I remember there were steps up to your house, I was quite tall but I think you were an inch or so taller.
I’ve mentioned before that I worked at the garage that supplied and serviced ‘Nick Downings’ (Foundry) two tone, white walled tyred Zodiac , He owned it long enough and I worked there long enough to buy it.
I used to live in Tilery attending the same school.

This is the picture that you sent to me some time ago John, good to see it reaching a wider audience. It is unfortunate that Railway Street and the surrounding area is so derelict when it played a pivotal role in Stockton’s industrial history.
